Start with fit, not a league table
There is no single best builder for every buyer. Shortlist homes that meet your budget, timing, accessibility needs and floor-plan requirements. Then compare the exact offers.
Build a consistent comparison
Use the same categories for each home: all-in price basis, included features, deposits, expected closing, fees, lot conditions and warranty questions. Record the date and source of each quotation.
Investigate the parties and documents
Check the builder and vendor in the Ontario Builder Directory and review the agreement with a lawyer. A brand name and a legal vendor may differ. Ask which entity is responsible for the sale and construction.
Visit, ask and document
Walk available models and sites where permitted. Ask how customer service, selections, inspections and after-sales issues are handled. Keep important representations in writing.
Use the current official information.
Rules, forms and offers can change. Verify your agreement and eligibility with the relevant professional.
